Troy believes in
Neighborhood Public Safety
Every resident deserves to feel safe walking to the train, waiting for the bus, visiting a park, shopping on a commercial corridor, or coming home at night.
Public safety is not just a policing issue. It is also about lighting, cleanliness, mental health response, youth programming, transit safety, vacant storefronts, problem properties, and utilizing City services that actually work.
Troy believes the Ward needs a practical public safety strategy that combines prevention, accountability, and compassionate intervention. Residents should not have to choose between safety and fairness. Our community needs both.
As Alderperson, Troy will:
Work closely with police district leadership, residents, businesses, schools, social service providers, and community organizations, such as Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy (CAPS).
Push for safer CTA stations, bus stops, commercial corridors, parks, and pedestrian areas.
Advocate for better lighting, cleaner streets, and faster response to problem locations.
Support services for people experiencing homelessness, mental health crises, or substance use challenges while also protecting residents, workers, and small businesses.
Demand accountability from City agencies when recurring safety problems are not addressed.
Support local programming, after-school opportunities, and local community-based resources resources for youth, young adults, and families.
Troy’s approach is simple: public safety should be visible, compassionate, accountable, and effective.
